Baikal from both shores
Eight days, one lake, two completely different worlds. On one side — Olkhon Island, sacred rocks, shamans who still practice ancient rituals. On the other — Buddhist temples, Buryat villages, and the kind of food you've never tried before (buuzy — they're incredible). You cross wild landscapes, you taste local cuisine, you feel the wind straight from Mongolia. And the views? Every single one will make you forget about your phone. This tour shows you Baikal from west to east.

DIVE INTO Baikal from both shores RIGHT NOW
Here's how it works.
Day 1
Arrival & First Relaxation by the Sea
Your private transfer from Gelendzhik Airport to the hotel. From the moment you land, you will feel the warmth of southern Russia and the rhythm of the Black Sea coast. It will be comfortable ride to your resort.
Stay at Primorye Grand Resort Hotel 4 or 5 *. This premium beachfront resort is located in the very heart of Gelendzhik, right on the first coastline — one of the best locations on the Black Sea. The hotel offers spacious, well-appointed rooms with breathtaking views of Gelendzhik Bay or the surrounding mountain ridges. You will have access to a private, well-maintained beach, where you can relax under the shade of century-old pine trees. Whether you choose a 4-star or 5-star option, you can expect high-quality service, comfort, and a true sense of escape.
Free time to unwind, explore, or simply do nothing. This is your first evening by the sea, and the pace is entirely yours to set. You might choose to indulge in spa relaxation at the hotel — a perfect way to wash away the fatigue of travel.
Day 2
Golf, Coaching & Sunset at the Legendary Rock
Visit to Gelendzhik Golf Resort — the first year-round golf resort on the Black Sea coast.Spanning over 80 hectares, this is the only 18-hole championship course in southern Russia. The course design has been shaped by the natural landscape — rolling hills, coastal breezes, and native vegetation — and it draws inspiration from the best classical golf courses of the United Kingdom and the United States. Whether you are a seasoned player or a curious beginner, the setting alone will impress you.
A true immersion into the world of golf. You will be taken on a guided tour of this PGA-class course, which stretches up to 6,500 meters in length. The terrain offers everything a golfer could dream of: dramatic elevation changes, strategic water hazards, and carefully placed sand bunkers. After the tour, you will enjoy a private training session with a professional instructor. Even if you have never held a club before, within one hour you will be making confident, solid swings. The lesson is patient, encouraging, and designed to make golf feel accessible and fun.
Sunset yacht cruise to the region's landmark — Sail Rock (Skala Parus). As the sun begins to lower, you will board a private yacht and head out onto the open sea. Your destination is one of the most photographed natural monuments on the Gelendzhik coast: Sail Rock, a 25-meter stone monolith that stands alone just a few meters from the shore. Shaped exactly like a ship's sail, it rises dramatically straight out of the water. From the deck of the yacht, with the golden light of sunset behind it, the rock looks almost unreal — a quiet guardian of the Black Sea. You will have time to take photos, feel the sea breeze, and simply absorb the scale and beauty of this place.
A perfect end to the day. After the yacht cruise, you return to shore. The evening is yours to enjoy as you wish — a seafood dinner overlooking the bay, a nightcap at the hotel bar, or a peaceful walk along the water. The memory of the sun setting behind Sail Rock will stay with you long after the tour ends.
Day 3
Deepening Your Skills
Improving your technique. You will return to Gelendzhik Golf Resort for an intensive one-on-one training session with your instructor. You will focus on perfecting your shots and improving your game on this championship-level course.
Afternoon. We will visit a château where wine is made as art and the architecture alone deserves attention. Chateau de Talu is not just a winery — it is a design masterpiece nestled into the hills. A private tour with a sommelier will take you through the wine production facility, followed by a tasting on an open terrace overlooking the vineyards. That's when you get that true feeling of a southern summer — exactly what we all come here for.
Day 4
Wine & Cheese
First, we stop at Burnier, a small family winery where every bottle carries the character of its maker. You will walk through the vineyards and enjoy a private wine tasting.
Then, a scenic drive takes us to a private winery called ON CHEESE. Here, you will learn all about cheese-making, visit the production room and the aging cellar, and taste several kinds of cheese.
Day 5
Crossing the Heart of Baikal
Breakfast at the hotel.
You'll transfer to the pier and cross Lake Baikal by boat to the eastern shore.
Most tourists never see the eastern shore. You will.
2 hours across the deepest lake on the planet. Water so clear that at 40 meters you see the bottom. Hold your phone overboard. This is not a ferry; it’s a private water expedition to the untamed side of Baikal.
Along the way, you'll watch the rocky shores of Olkhon, hidden bays, and cliffs pass by — landscapes that remain inaccessible from land.
Lunch is provided at the village of Turka
You'll arrive in the village of Turka, located within a special economic zone focused on sustainable tourism. This area represents a newer and less explored side of Baikal, offering a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere than the western shore.
From there, you'll transfer to your hotel and have time to simply enjoy the lakeside environment.
Dinner and overnight stay.
funny fact +
Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world, reaching over 1,600 meters, and holds roughly 20% of the planet's fresh surface water. It is also one of the oldest lakes on Earth, having formed around 25 million years ago, and it continues to change due to ongoing tectonic activity.
Day 6
The Sacred Valley
Breakfast at the hotel.
You will have full-day excursion to the Barguzin Valley — one of the most remarkable regions surrounding Lake Baikal.
The valley lies within the Baikal rift system, a unique geological zone where the Earth's crust is slowly pulling apart. This makes the area not only visually stunning but also scientifically important.
The landscape here is wonderfully diverse: wide open plains, mountain ranges, winding rivers, and thermal areas all come together to create a unique microclimate that has supported human life here for centuries.
During the excursion, you'll visit key natural and cultural locations, learn about local beliefs, and gain a deeper understanding of how people have lived in harmony with nature in this region for generations.
Picnic lunch will be served in nature
Return to the hotel, followed by dinner and overnight stay.
funny fact +
The Barguzin Valley is also known for its deep spiritual significance. It has long been considered a sacred territory by the indigenous peoples, a place where shamanism and Buddhism exist side by side. Many sites in the valley are regarded as places of power, and they are still used today for rituals and offerings.
Day 7
Free day to relax and enjoy the natural environment of Lake Baikal
This is an opportunity to slow down and experience the lake at your own pace — whether walking along the shore, enjoying the fresh air, or simply observing the changing colors of the water and sky.
Lake Baikal is known for its exceptional water clarity, which is the result of natural filtration processes involving endemic microorganisms. In some areas, visibility can reach up to 40 meters.
The surrounding ecosystem is home to many unique species, including the Baikal seal, the only freshwater seal in the world.
* Optional activities (extra charge): cycling, ATV rides, boat trips, fishing, visiting traditional Siberian sauna (banya).
Dinner and overnight.
Day 8
Ulan-Ude, Ivolginsky Datsan and the Old Believers’ Heritage
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure for Ulan-Ude (2-2,5h driving).
Visit the Ivolginsky Datsan — the main center of Buddhism in Russia and an important spiritual and educational complex. It serves as the residence of the Pandito Khambo Lama, the head of Buddhists in Russia.
The Datsan is not only a religious site but also a living monastery where monks study philosophy, medicine, and traditional Buddhist practices. It is also known for preserving the body of Lama Itigilov, which remains in an unusual state and is regarded as a significant spiritual phenomenon.
Continue to Tarbagatai village, home of the Old Believers (Semeiskie).
This community originated in the 17th century after a split in the Russian Orthodox Church.
Due to persecution, they were relocated to Siberia, where they preserved their traditional way of life, including language, customs, clothing, and religious practices.
During the visit, you will explore traditional houses, learn about their history, and experience their culture through a folklore performance featuring authentic songs and rituals.
Lunch with traditional homemade cuisine, reflecting centuries-old recipes.
Arrival in Ulan-Ude — the capital of the Republic of Buryatia, a region where Russian and Mongolian cultural influences intersect. The city is known for its multicultural identity and for the world’s largest monument of Vladimir Lenin.
Dinner. Check-in and overnight in Ulan-Ude.
Day 9
Breakfast at the Hotel.
